I painted this painting inspired by my husband. This world praises and affirms a man when he is physically strong, brings home the money, and for having it all together. However, I believe a real man is one that knows they don’t have it all together, but knows the One Who does. A strong man is one that knows that his strength only comes from God and isn’t afraid to kneel before his King. I wanted a painting that celebrated the cowboy lifestyle, but also affirms a man who puts his faith above his pride.
The original painting has Psalm 138:3 written in the underpainting. I pray God’s Word is embedded in each and every print.
This painting is my imagination of Jesus and His chosen horse. Horses are written all through scripture so I believe they are highly favored even among heaven. You can’t help but see power, majesty, and immense beauty when you look upon a horse. And it’s thrilling to envision what Jesus would look like riding His white horse into battle. I hope this painting evokes peace but also this great thrill that His Kingship is further solidified from the back of a horse.
